We’ve been here before, when back in 2015, Hyderabad spoiled Bangalore’s party and stopped them from reaching the playoffs in that edition. These two teams find themselves in a similar situation and both teams can’t afford to lose this RCB vs SRH fixture. Sharjah will play hosts for what promises to be a cracking encounter.
The rivalry is tied on a knife-edge as both teams have managed to win seven games against one another. Bangalore emerged victorious the previous time these two met at Dubai. The last weekend is as exciting as any year has been. Except Chennai all teams are well and truly alive and it could be anyone’s guess as to which three teams apart from Mumbai will make it to the playoffs.
Yuzvendra Chahal vs Rashid Khan
Yuzvendra Chahal and Rashid Khan have been the key men for RCB and SRH respectively. They are two of the best spinners in T20 cricket and this battle could decide the outcome of RCB vs SRH.
Chahal has contributed to 29% of his team wickets which is the third-highest contribution by a top wicket-taker for his team this season. The wickets in the middle over are the key to stifle the run-scoring in a T20 match and Chahal is a master of that. He has picked 14 wickets between overs seven and fifteen and is second behind Rashid Khan.
Chahal would hope to be the standout bowler of this game and you can back Bangalore to have the top bowler.
Rashid Khan has picked up 17 wickets so far in the tournament and stands as the fifth-highest wicket-taker of the competition. All his wickets have come in the middle overs and that’s what makes him lethal with the ball.
PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR
AB de Villiers
AB de Villiers has scored 191 runs at a strike rate of 196.91 scoring a boundary approximately every 4 balls whenever Bangalore have won a game this year. He is a super-striker and will look to show his best against Hyderabad.
The most apparent issue in that Hyderabad line-up was their middle-order. Kane Williamson seems to have fixed it all by himself. Williamson has been Hyderabad’s best middle-order (4-7) player scoring 163 runs at an average of 40.75, best by any player in that team. Williamson has also been their most effective batsman in the death overs as well and that tells us his impact on the team.
