Two teams who currently find themselves in a precarious position face-off in Abu Dhabi for a day game in the Indian T20 League. SRH vs KKR seems like a game both teams can’t afford to lose as only two points separate these two teams in the table.
The middle-order of both teams seems shaky currently. Hyderabad have changed four positions in that middle-order and Kolkata’s experienced players have failed to step up so far in the tournament. Kolkata have been dominant over Hyderabad over the years in the tournament by winning eleven out of the total eighteen games.
David Warner vs Eoin Morgan
Two men who can influence their respective teams and lead from the front. These two will have to make sure that they first do their job with the bat first and foremost and then look to inspire the players with some right calls on the field.
David Warner knows that Hyderabad have a soft middle-order and needs to make sure that he tries to take the match as deep as he can. This is the stage when the top players need to stand up for their respective teams and we have a feeling Warner would do the same.
The saga of the Kolkata captaincy has been an intriguing one. Dinesh Karthik had immense pressure midway through the tournament and before their previous match he interestingly stepped down as the captain to concentrate on his batting. That means that Eoin Morgan who according to many should have been the captain, to begin with, has to take up the responsibility halfway through the tournament. After getting hammered in their previous game against Mumbai, Morgan and his men will be looking to get their campaign back on track with a win in this match.
PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR
With the pitches beginning to slow down the onus is now on the openers to make the most of the powerplay. With an inexperienced bowling line-up against them, Jonny would look to unleash his might on them in this match.
In the last few matches when Shubman hasn’t got going, the Kolkata batting has seemed weak. He’s way too talented to not score in the upcoming matches. Kolkata needs to improve their powerplay game and Shubman has to take responsibility for it.
