What to Expect from the Visitors in IND vs ENG T20I Series?

The Ind vs Eng T20I series beginning from Friday, 12th March, onwards will see a mega battle between the top two T20I sides in the world who will go head-to-head at Ahmedabad, India. The visitors are coming into this full-fledged series on the back of getting outclassed by the hosts in the Test series (2-1).

After an extremely positive start to the tour in Chennai, it all went downhill for England in the remaining three Tests. With the change of format and a change of personnel at the top, expect the Three Lions to bounce back in the limited-overs format. They are the 50-overs World Champions and the No. 1 T20I team for a reason.

Here’s what to expect from the visitors in the Ind vs Eng T20I series.

CAPTAIN MORGAN’S CLASS

England’s charismatic leader, Eoin Morgan is back and under him, the nation has had its best-ever days in white-ball cricket. It’s the freedom with which his team plays that makes them lethal in all phases of the game. Morgan asks everyone in the squad to express themselves freely on the ground and that attitude has paid dividends for the team in the past few years. Morgan is also a tactically astute captain and is a breath of fresh air in the England squad.

DEPTH IN BATTING

England are spoilt for choices in their T20I team and have plenty of options to pick their XI. The five-match series will give them an opportunity to test all their 16 players selected in the squad to make sure that they leave no stone unturned before the World Cup in November. There are plenty of all-round options in the squad which will give them the much-needed balance in the format and plenty of bowling options as well to the captain. They can name a team with batting till number 8 and beyond. So many all-rounders in the squad is a luxury any captain would love to have in their squad.

GENUINE PACE IN THEIR BOWLING

In Jofra Archer, Mark Wood and Chris Jordan, England have three out and out quick bowlers who can bowl above 140 kmph regularly. Add Ben Stokes, Tom Curran and Reece Topley to that lineup and you get a genuine pace bowling quartet who can trouble any batting line up across the world. Most of these bowlers also have good exposure in the Indian T20 League previously and that’ll come in handy in this upcoming Ind vs Eng T20I series.

LICENSE TO KILL

This England white-ball team is known for the positivity with which they play the game. It all comes from their captain who allows the individuals to be free on the pitch and believe in their abilities. The kind of firepower this team has, almost every batsman has the license to go for the kill from the word go. They have the luxury of plenty of all-rounders in the squad and that will help them continue their aggressive style of cricket in this series as well. The strike rate of the two batting units might just be the difference between the two teams at the end of the series.
