How Will Barcelona vs Juventus Shape Up?

The UEFA Champions League is back for its last gameweek of the group stage as Barcelona vs Juventus will determine the winner of Group G. Both these teams have already qualified for the knockout stage of the Champions League and have been too good for Dynamo Kyiv and Ferencvaros in their group.

The day when the fixtures were released, this match was the much-awaited clash of the group stage. We will finally see two modern greats in Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo go head-to-head in the group stage of the Champions League for the first time. Apart from the headline-grabbing matchup, these are the other things to focus on, ahead of Barcelona vs Juventus.

FC BARCELONA

Barcelona have been excellent in the UEFA Champions League but have made one of the worst starts to their league campaign in the club’s history. Barcelona have an injury crisis on their hands and will have to do without Ansu Fati, Gerard Pique, Sergi Roberto and Ousmane Dembele going into this game. They are in the driving seat for the first position in the group, having beaten Juventus in the previous encounter.

JUVENTUS FC

Juventus have also been well below their best in the Serie A as they sit on the fourth position in the table. Scoring goals has been an issue for the Turin club all season and they are heavily reliant on Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata for goalscoring. Andrea Pirlo will be able to name Ronaldo in the line-up this time around after he missed the reverse fixture as he had tested positive for coronavirus during that time. The Bianconeri will be without Merih Demiral, Giorgio Chiellini, and Gianluigi Buffon for this encounter.
