Predictions and Tips Ahead of France vs Portugal

A high-octane France vs Portugal clash is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated fixtures in the third game week of the UEFA Nations League. Both the sides have won their respective group stage games against Croatia and Sweden quite comprehensively, with Portugal sitting atop the points table on goal difference.

However, with the match set to be held at France’s Stade de France in Saint-Denis, Kylian Mbappe and Co. will be fancying an early chance to top their group. Two of the oldest giants of European football, France have faced Portugal 25 times so far, winning 18 of them.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates, however, had previously made a statement by stunning a star-studded France team at the Euro 2016 final and, with quality players like Joao Felix and Bruno Fernandes now joining the squad, would eye a repeat of the same.

The side also remains largely injury-free, as far as their first team is concerned, with Griezmann and Mbappe properly rested ahead of the crunch clash.

 

PORTUGAL

Unlike France, Portugal had a tricky outing against Spain in their international friendly fixture, which they drew 0-0 exhibiting a good defensive showing. Portugal coach Fernando Santos also has a fully-fit squad at his disposal with a determined Cristiano Ronaldo looking to make every match count as he arrives at the dusk of his career.
